Dukan 2 . 3

I did indeed have some carb cravings yesterday, UGH!  I eventually overcame it without giving in, I chewed a stick of key lime pie flavored gum and fooled myself, I guess, into thinking I had something sweet.  lol  So I am doing that again now.    I did really great and lost another 2.4 pounds since yesterday, so everything is looking up!
Did you watch the Biggest Loser last night?  It looks like it will be a great season!  I will admit that I am a reality show junkie, but not for the housewives or any of those, I really enjoy the gameshow ones.  I always watch Biggest Loser, SURVIVOR (huge fan!), Amazing Race, Big Brother and when I can remember, Project Runway.  I have also watched the last two seasons of America's Got Talent.  I was working out while I watched BL last night, what an insperation that show is!  The one thing that annoys me about the shows where people vote each other out is that at Tribal Council or whatever the last place they talk is, people start talking and get themselves voted right out of the game!  That is NOT the time to air your personal grievances, keep your mouth shut if you want to stay on!  lol  Which is what happened last night, Debbie ran her mouth and got voted off!  They just don't listen when I am yelling at them on the screen, lol!
I am really hyped for my new weight loss and can't wait to pass the point where I gave up last time, blah!  I will let you know when that happens, for now I will say adieu, to you, till tomorrow!

Dukan 2.2

Whew!  I lost 3.2 pounds from yesterday and feel great!  Yesterday went much smoother than I expected!  I tried to start two days ago, but I was not prepared and the carb cravings overwhelmed me in the afternoon and I caved.  Yesterday I had NO carb cravings!  YAY!!  So I am expecting great things for today, too!
I am trying to create routines for me and my family to keep us all on track, but I am really having a hard time, I am not a schedule kind of girl!  If you have any tips on how to get better at keeping us on track, I would love to hear them!
Let me know how your day went yesterday!  I will leave you with a joke from my sons string cheese yesterday-

Why won't Tigress play board games with her friends?

Too many Cheetahs!

Day 1 AGAIN!!

Well, hello there!  Long time, no see!  Well, I have decided that I have to do something different in my diet, I have just been drifting along at the same weight for a while now so I am restarting the Dukan, with a vengance!  I went to the store this morning and got some protein, I have to have plenty in the house so I can stay away from the kids junk.  lol.  My biggest problem is around 3-4 pm, I just get the munchies and then I will fill up and not be hungry for supper, which is fine, but I have been filling up on all the wrong foods!  That will stop today!  I have plenty of snacks, chicken, greek yogurt, beef jerky (which really helps to wear out the jaw muscles so you don't feel like eating, lol) and some cheese sticks.  I will come back tomorrow and let you know how the rest of the day goes.  I have also joined a Biggest Loser challenge on Spark People, so we will see how I do during this 8 week challenge!
So let me know how you are all doing!  Till tomorrow---

What the heck!

I am getting a little aggrivated, I keep trying to post in comments and keep getting the message that my account does not have access to view the page.  What does that mean?  If you can help it would be greatly appreciated!
Now on to what you really want to read about, lol.  This week is not going so good for weight loss.  The baby is sick this week and I feel like she is sharing a little too much, ugh.  Not only her illness, but I feel like I am never again going to be truly clean!  If you have or ever have been in charge of a sick baby I am sure you understand, I am her personal tissue and basic catch-all for anything she has, YUCK!  Needless to say, I am not feeling too hungry and have not really eaten or slept in about 3 days now.  On the bright side I think we are over the worst of it, so, hopefully, it is all going to get better now.
Keep up the great work and I will be back on track any day now.  Till tomorrow!

my apologies

I am so sorry if I have not responded to your comments, I am having a problem posting comments, on other blogs and my own.  Hopefully it is just a glitch and will be resolved soon.  Thank you for taking the time to comment and hopefully I will reply soon

ready for a reset

Hello, all!  t brings me great sorrow to tell you that I have not lost as much as I had previously thought!  I started having some suspicions about my scales accuracy, so I bought a new one and sure enough my old one was dying a slow, torturous, lying death!  I am so aggrivated, I had thought I was doing so well!  So I am restarting with conviction!  I am putting off changing my weight on MFP and not willing to tell you just how much I have gained back, but I will say that I did not gain everything back, thank goodness.  I will update you when I am back to where I thought I was, or I feel better about sharing my utter humiliation. :(
I am changing up what I was dong before, I am not starting with pure protien, I am adding some veggies right off the bat, for instance I am having a grilled chicken salad for lunch, but only the non starchy veggies.  I have really been watching for sugar in the stuff I buy, too, and there is a LOT of sugar in way too many products that don't need it.  I know it's a whole conspiracy to keep us addicted to junk, it's just sick what the companies will put in food nowadays!
The good news is that I actually started yesterday and have dropped a few pounds already, mostly water, but I will take what I can get. :)  I am going to try to be more regular with posting and maybe start posting what I eat again.  So, I will check back in with all of you tomorrow and hopefully we will all have something great to share!

A little bit about couponing

With that couponing show on one of my otherwise favorite channels, I have been asked a lot lately about one of my favorite hobbies- couponing, so I thought I would add something about it to my blog for everyone to read.  I am going to add a tab for my favorite couponing links and hope that it helps someone!   Before the couponing show, the reaction I got a lot was "Oh, you do coupons?  Well, that's nice, I just don't have time"  What!?!  That is the silliest thing I have ever heard.  Who doesn't have time to save money? Or "Oh, I just don't use anything that they have coupns for"  Really!?!  You don't use toothpaste, toothbrushes, deoderant, or shampoo?  How about milk, bread, ketchup or mustard?  Clothes?  Detergent?  These are all things that I can get for free or really, really cheap, but you don't use them?  Please don't stand too close :)

Now, the most common question is "Have you seen that new show?  What do you think about it?"  I have given this a lot of thought and I really like, but don't like that show and I will tell you why.

I like that the show is giving couponing a better public image and it is really improving the way stores are training the checkers on coupon policy, in the past that was pretty hit or miss on who knew what part of the policy.  That is all I like about the show.

I DON'T like that it is giving people an unrealistic idea of what the average person can save at the supermarket.  I don't like that it is making stores change their coupon policy to be less consumer friendly.  I don't like that it is making the coupon companies put limits on the coupons themselves.  I don't like that it has created so many wannabe extremists who don't learn coupon etiquette first.

I love couponing and have been at it for about 7 or 8 years now and I love teaching others how to save.  I can save 40%-90% on my grocery bill, but it does take some time to really learn the ropes and the right way to go about it, so be patient and you'll get there.  You also don't have to spend 60 hours a week or order 1000 coupons off ebay (which is illegal and being stopped), I spend about 2 hours every other week planning my trip and I only buy three newspapers every week for the coupons and it is plenty for me and my family.  I also give away a lot of the freebies to my friends and family because it really hurts for me to know they actually pay full price for stuff I get an abundance of, lol.
Ok, now that I have all of that off of my chest, I am going to bed, it has been a long day.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.  If you would like clarification on anything, please let me know, I am tired and may not have been as clear as I hoped.  I will put up links sometime tomorrow.
Nighty, night!

I'm here!

Hello, everybody!  Sorry I haven't been on in a while, we have a lot going on here.  I just wanted to check in let everyone in on the great news!  As of this morning I am finally below 250 at 249.6, YAY!!!!  It was really great seeing that on the scale, and while I am having some suspicions of my scales accuracy, I am going to just go with it.  I have also modified my diet.  I am staying low carb when I eat a regular meal, but for breakfast, at least, I am having a Mona Vie shake.  My mom and sisters are all on it and doing so great and I have to admit it takes a lot of guess work out of what to eat, lol.  For breakfast I add some instant decaf coffee and it's really great, like a flavored coffee at a fast food joint.
Another thing I am trying is adding some suppliments to my daily routine, oh and I am also trying to have a daily routine, lol.  I think the suppliments are helping, I have been feeling better lately, if I could just get the baby to sleep all night I think I could feel great!
The baby has developed this horrible screaming habit, sometimes because her brother is egging her on, but sometimes it's just because she can!  It is SO shrill, it hurts my ears!  Any idea how to break that?  I would be most grateful!
Well, I will try and come back to see you all tomorrow, hopefully with more great news!  Keep up the battle and we will all be winners!

Oh, barnacles!

This is my son's favorite expression at the moment- Oh, barnacles!  Of course he is about to turn six, so Spongbob is his favorite cartoon, he just cracks me up, he is so cute and funny!  No, I am NOT biased, that is the absolute truth (wink).
Well, the good news is that all the crap I had over the weekend is melting away, I am back down again.  I worked out last night to Jillian Michael's Shred it with Weights, and I am a little sore this morning!  It is a tough and strange workout.  I have a secret envy of ripped gals, I would LOVE to have washboard abs, but I don't want to have to work so hard for them, lol.  I am trying to convince myself to really work out more often.  I know that if I could work out on a more regular basis, I could lose weight faster and look so much better, so I am working on it.  So do you have a workout secret?  Let me know how you get motivated!

Sticktoitiveness

Sticktoitiveness, this is what I need more of!  It is so hard for me to stick to anything for very long and apparently, that includes longer than a week.  I had a horrible weekend.  I went to the movies on Saturday and saw the movie "Bridesmaids", which was SO funny!!  The language gets pretty horrible at times, but the actresses were great.  I know some people don't see anything wrong with foul language, but I was raised by a wonderful man who told me once that there is a whole dictionary full of words so why not try and use them all instead of just using a few bad ones all of the time.  You'll sound smarter and get a whole lot more respect.  Anyway, we also went to the in-laws on Sunday.  Dieting is so much easier when you can do it from home and SO much harder to keep up with when you are out and about.
I got out some ground turkey earlier to thaw and am going to make up some burgers and grill them, then put them in the freezer so I can just heat up one at a time for lunches.
Well, we will see tomorrow how everything is going!

Great day!

Today is starting out rather well!  Doesn't that sound all boring and proper? lol.  It's been a great morning, I am down to 252.8, so two more down for a total of 14.2 pounds lost since starting the Dukan!

WOO-HOO!!!

I wanted to mention the My Fitness Pal counter on the right side of the page.  It is always saying I lost more than I claim on here and just wanted to tell you why.  I started that in November at a weight of 275, my post-baby weight, and I lost 8 pounds between November and April, when I started the Dukan.  I could go and change it, but I like knowing that I have come this far since Nov., so it will always be 8 pounds more than what I have here.  When I get to 225 I will post before and after pics from my 275 starting point!

In case you are wondering what my daily menu looks like, here is what I had yesterday-

Breakfast- Turkey bacon and eggs (chicken eggs, not turkey, hehe)

Lunch- grilled chicken leftovers

Snack- Sonic ice cream cone, NOT dukan approved, but I caved :(

Dinner- homemade turkey burgers on the grill, no bun (so YUMMY!)

I hope you are all going to have a great day, check ya later! :D

Let's move!

Ok, so today has been great so far, I woke up and I was back down to 254.8 ( had accidentally put 154! what a dream! I am awake now, hehe) which is a 12 pound weight loss since starting the Dukan diet last month and I am so happy about that.  I kinda fell off the wagon, got busy with tee-ball, dr.'s appointments and just all kinds of crazyness and just got frustrated with myself and not being able to stay on the diet with all of the running around I was doing.  Really these are all just excuses and I could have done better, but it was just easier not to, sad, right?  Well, now I am going to try and get back on it, I CAN do it, I just have to try harder!  One problem is that I quit walking in the evenings. My mom and I had been walking, she is doing the Mona Vie RVL diet and has lost 12 pounds herself!  She stopped wanting to go walking, so I went with my son for a few days, but then we just slacked off and quit going.  My mom and I have been walking again this week, except for last night, so hopefully we will start up again and keep at it!  I have also been trying to move more through out the day.  If I go to another room I dance, shake my hips, twist my waist, just move more.  Another thing is just picking up the baby and dancing with her, that's an extra 21 pounds to carry around and she LOVES it!  If I go upstairs I skip a step or take really wide steps.  Going back down I try to step slower, talk about hard to do, WHEW!!!
So let's get moving some more!  Let me know what you do.  Till tomorrow!

I have more followers!

Now I feel really bad!  I haven't posted in a while and gained new followers while I was gone!  Welcome and please feel free to post if you are doing the Dukan and how it is going for you!  As for me, I am staying steady, even though I have not been faithful.  I was pretty frustrated the past week and a half as I have a few pounds that crept up on me and would not go away!  However, with the end of tee ball season and a housefull of sick people, myself included, I did not realize that it is that very special time in a woman's life that I can do without, so today was much better and tomorrow will be even better!
Keep up the great work and leave a message letting me know all about you, I love meeting new people and hearing about others who are on this journey, or even if your just here cause I am such a great entertainer, hehe!

A new day!

I haven't been on for a while, I got pretty frustrated because I could not stop the yo-yo of the same two pounds coming and going.  The good news is that I know that I can keep from gaining all of what I lost back.  I just needed a refresher and to review what I was doing wrong.  Having a candy filled holiday did NOT help. lol.
So here are the mistakes I made-

- not enough water!  This is very important!

- thinking "just one bite won't hurt"!  Just one bite almost ALWAYS leads to two or three or twenty!

- Not working out.  My body needs movement to burn calories.

- eating too late in the day!  I am not hungry at night, but love to snack, which is always a bad idea and the   wrong snack can lead to a painful night of heartburn and a painful morning of weight gain!

I am going to come back to this list when I need it to remind myself.  Today I am back down to 11 pounds lost and hope to improve that number tomorrow.  Till then...

Day 15

I got more sleep!  YAY!  I love sleep, I really miss it when I don't get enough.  George can get three hours of sleep and be fine (till he falls asleep on the couch), but I really need 8-10 hours or I just can't make it through the day.  I am not good at naps either, so all my sleep has to be at night.
So on to the weight loss.  I dropped the 1.4 pounds from yesterday, so we are good.  I thought I might if I got some sleep.  My next goal is to drop the next 10 pounds and get to the 240's.  To see 246 on the scale is going to be so great!  I am visualizing it often.
My daughter is helping me to get in some exercise.  She has learned to climb and has made it her goal to climb every piece of furniture we own and then I think she plans to conquer the walls.  Yesterday I spent the day taking her off of the kitchen table and the patio table, the desk and the back of the couch.  I am going to have to invest in bubble wrap carpeting for the entire house soon.
Well, off to our days adventures, see you tomorrow, a little bit lighter!

Monday, April 18, 2011

Day 14

Day 14.  Blah!  I didn't get enough sleep last night.  I took some ibuprofen before bed and that is apparently a bad idea.  I had insomnia till about three this morning and then had to get up at seven to get Bryce off to school.  When I don't get enough sleep it always shows up on the scale, so this morning I am up 1.4 pounds.  Blah!  "And that's all I have to say about that."

Day 13

I skipped yesterday.  My sis and I took the kiddos to some free Easter activities and they had a lot of fun.  I was still bloated and seriously considering taking a break from this diet.  I did have a lot of extra carbs, but did survive a trip to taco bell successfully ;D  I had a couple of tacos and a burrito, but I scooped the insides out and threw away the tortilla and taco shells!  It was really good and very satisfying as Taco Bell is my very FAVORITE place to eat, I could have three meals a day there for the rest of my life and be perfectly content.  The carbs, though, are terrible.  I have been trying to figure out how to eat there and still stay true to my diet, and now I have it!
Today is turning out to be better and worse than yesterday.  Last night I had very little to drink, but was up all night going to the potty, so I knew I was finally getting rid of the water I had been holding onto and this morning on the scale proved I was right.  I am back down to 256.8, after a two pound weight gain yesterday, so that is wonderful!  I was afraid all the carbs yesterday would make my blood sugar go up, but this morning it was only 118, so I think maybe my body needed those extra carbs.  The bad part of my day is that AF is finally here, which is why my bloating is going away, lol.
Today I am going to have a pure protein day and take lots of ibuprofen and see how tomorrow goes!

Friday, April 15, 2011

Day 11

I missed a day yesterday, just busy, busy.  I felt terrible yesterday and splurged a little.  I had won a gift card for TGIFridays, so my siter and I stopped to eat.  I had a chicken sandwich, but had them hold the bread. It came with sweet potato fries and I enjoyed them quite a lot!  Sweet potatoes are NOT an approved veggie, but I just did not worry about it.  I payed for it on the scale this morning, though.  I am up 2.2 pounds!  I am not going to treat it like a major setback, though, I am just going to keep on track and see what happens!  I also finally got some protein powder so I can make some chocolate and chocolate latte shakes.  That should help in the afternoons, we shall see.

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Day 9

Well, it looks like it is that dreaded time when weight loss will be very hard, if at all, BLAH!!!  I gain .2 pounds this morning, which is not even worth mentioning, but with the moody feelings and all around discomfort, it it very upsetting.  Here's to hoping that tomorrow is better and brighter for me.  I have thought a couple of times of just giving up on my diet, but I have come along quite well so far and have to remember it is only temporary insanity and things will get better!

Tomorrow is going to be somewhat of a challenge as it is my first real grocery shopping day since starting my journey.  Grocery shopping is probably not a big deal for most people, but I love playing the coupon game and this diet is really going to change my game plans a LOT!  Also, we drive 20 miles away to do our shopping, so it is an almost all day adventure, which means I will eat out at least once, maybe twice tomorrow.  We shall see how it goes, I am going to try to make some smart decisions, no matter how cranky I feel, lol!

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Day 8

Well, you would think that after 38 years, I would have basic math down pat, but obviously this is not the case as I discovered this morning!  I was figuring up how much I have lost and I actually did reach the 10 pound mark last week, I just got confused, hehe.
This morning I weigh 256.4 which is .8 less than yesterday and a total of 10.6 lost so far!  My blood sugar is 112, which is still pretty good, but not ideal.  I have also lost one and a half inches in my waist, so that is terriffic!
Here is what I had yesterday-
Breakfast- bacon and eggs

Lunch- Fajita chicken

Snacks- yogurt and oat bran, peanut butter, slim jims

Supper- nothing

I was feeling a little down yesterday, mainly cause I was bloated and a little constipated, so I snacked.  About 3pm is usually my downfall everyday, that is when I get really hungry and usually snack uncontrollably, but yesterday I was able to keep it togethe and while I did have a little peanut butter to satisfy my sweet tooth, I did not go overboard.  I am very happy with myself.
  On to another day!

Monday, April 11, 2011

Day 7- First day of the cruise phase

High dee ho, neighbor!  Well yesterday was the first day of the cruise phase for me, which means that I get to add protein and veggie days to my routine.  I did not do so good yesterday.  Well, that's not entirely true, but the scale is not being nice.  I think that part of the problem is that we had a late supper, and that never bodes well for me.
Today I weigh 257.2 which is a gain of .6 for a total loss of 8.8 and my blood sugar was up to 117, so not good.  I also had some bad flatulence last night, which I haven't had since starting the dukan diet.  I think maybe I should have started small on the veggies, instead of having a big salad.  I am going to do all protein again today and see what I can do about veggies tomorrow.
Here is what I ate yesterday-

Breakfast- just a little sausage, I wasn't really hungry.

Lunch- a big salad with fajita chicken

Snacks- greek yogurt with oat bran, slim jims

Supper- hamburger patties with tomatoes  ( I over ate on these, I wasn't really that hungry, but they were really good!)

I also feel a little bloated and constipated, so hopefully I will feel better in a bit and do better today.
Till tomorrow!

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Day 6

Well, howdy there, folks!  I hope you all had a good nights sleep!  I could have used a little more, but I guess I'll get some eventually, like in 18 years or so and the kids are in college, lol!  Anyway, I felt really good when I woke up and the scale proved to be very kind this morning, :)
So my weight for today is 256.6, down one pound from yesterday for a total of 9.4 pounds lost during the attack phase!  Woo-hoo!!!  That is three pounds more than the website predicted!  My blood sugar is 103, but I think it is a little up because most of what I ate yesterday was cured meats and they are almost all cured with sugar.  Here is what I ate yesterday-

Breakfast-  jalapeno flavored sausage (it was actually sausage kolaches, but I took off the bun.)

Lunch- a couple of slim jims

Snacks- greek yogurt with oat bran, aslim jims

Supper- a little lunchmeat

We had a garage sale and were outside all day, so I drank a LOT of water.  A friend that was out there with us told me it got up to 91 degrees yesterday and I totally believe it, we were HOT!
Today is the beginning of the cruise phase for me and I am looking forward to adding some veggies back into my diet and seeing if they help with weight lose or slow it down a little.  The average weight loss in this phase is 2 pounds a week, so we will see.  According to the website I should reach my goal of 176 on January 16, 2012, but since I am three pounds ahead of schedule, maybe it will be a few days sooner, we shall see.  I also think coming on here to blog everyday has really helped too.  I know I am probably just typing to myself for the most part, but that is ok, it still helps, hehe.
Tune in tomorrow, same Beckytime, same Beckychannel, for more Beckyadventures!

Day 5

Hello, my friends!  Yesterday was the fifth day of my Dukan diet adventures!  I am supposed to do the attack phase for 6 days which means that tomorrow I can start the cruise phase!  In the cruise phase you are to alternate between pure protein days and veggie and protein days, so we will see how that goes as that opens up new foods I can eat.
This morning was a great day on the scale, I weighed in at 157.6 which means I lost another 1.4 pounds for a total of 8.4 pounds!  My blood sugar tested at 100!  This has been a great diet so far!
We had a garage sale at my mom's today, and in the past, when I finally get home, I am so exhausted I can barely move.  Today was different, I am tired and sunburned, but I still feel like I could get things done and take care of the kids.  In the past we have spent the day snacking on all kinds of high carb snacks, so I really think that not having the carbs really helped!
Before I forget here is what I had yesterday-

Breakfast- Turkey bacon and eggs

Lunch- I actually skipped lunch, I was busy and forgot!

Snacks- Greek yogurt and oat bran, cottage cheese and lunchmeat

Supper- smoked chicken from the local bbq place, mmmm, it was so good!

Well, I am going to go and get these kids to calm down so we can all go to bed early, that is called wishful thinking, I know, but a girl can dream, right?

Friday, April 8, 2011

Day 4

Yesterday was day four for me following the Dukan diet.  Everything went pretty well, and I have managed to talk George into going on it with me, which is a huge accomplishment.  I think he is in mourning right now for his carbs, hehe.  I just have to get him a copy of the approved foods list, so he can have it with him and know what to eat.
Last night I tried to get him to watch the movie Fat Head, but he was so tired he kept falling asleep, so we'll try again later.  If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it.  It is basically a response to the movie Super Size Me, but by a comedian, who is really funny.  He does give a lot of really interesting facts and promotes a high protein, low carb diet.  It is on Netflix right now on demand, so you can watch it instantly.
Today my weight is at 259 so down another pound for a total of 7 pounds lost in four days!  Another great side effect from this diet is that my blood sugar is down to 106 this morning!  WooHoo!!
Here is my food list from yesterday-

Breakfast-  Turkey bacon and eggs (I know I eat the same thing everyday, but I am like that for my fast breaking, :)  )

Lunch- chicken breast strips with fajita seasoning and a little taco sauce (no sugar added)

Snack- greek yogurt with oat bran and sweetener, meat stick, cheese

Supper- Tuna with low fat flavored mayo, a little dill relish and cheese

Today is going to be a busy day for us, we have the garage sale tomorrow and a t-ball game tonight and George is getting a c-pap machine today, but hopefully he wont need it for long if I can get him to really follow this diet.
Let's all have a great day!!

Thursday, April 7, 2011

Day 3

Yesterday was day 3.  It is getting easier to not eat carbs, last night Bryce had a corn dog and before I would have taken a bite of it because I just love cornbread, but last night I didn't even want a bite, so the carb cravings are definitely diminishing, while this sentence just runs on and on, hehe.  I did run into a problem yesterday as I went to my moms and did not take enough protein with me.  I ate the few snacks I brought, but was still hungry, and the only thing she had was some natural cheese slices, which were zero carbs, so I went overboard on those.  We played Wii bowling, which is SO much fun and I almost had a perfect game!! I had nine strikes in a row!  I could not believe it!  Oh, and that was on the hundred pin game, which is the bomb!
Ok, so back to the diet, I gained .6 lbs. this morning, which puts me at 6 lbs even of weight loss at 260.  I forgot to check my blood sugar, so will update that tomorrow.
I am sure the weight gain has something to do with not enough available protein yesterday and not enought water consumption.  Also, at one point I was wrestling with my sister and  pulled a muscle in my back.  I woke up in a ton of pain today.  Oh, here is a funny, George forgot his keys this morning so at four o'clock in the morning he was ringing the doorbell to wake me up.  I guess he forgot his phone, too.  Anywho, when I finally woke up, I could not imagine who would be playing with the doorbell at  that hour, so I ran down the stairs to stop them before they woke the baby and slipped on the fourth step from the bottom and went down the rest on my backside!  That did NOT help my back feel better!
Here is what I ate yesterday, not good apparently and am going to do better today-

Breakfast- Sonic bacon toaster, no bread! (I had to run some errands and got very hungry!)

Snacks- slim jims, sargentos natural sharp cheddar cheese slices, yogurt with oat bran and sweetener

Supper- Burger patties with cheese and a little mustard

I did not really have a lunch so I just count it as a snack.  So maybe my small weight gain is partly due to not enough for lunch, I don't know, but I am going to try and do much better today, although I need to go to moms and get ready for our garage sale on sat.
Another thing you are supposed to do on this, or even if you are not dieting really, is to walk at least 20 minutes a day.  I did not the first two days, but did get in a lot of housework, not that you would know it to look at my house right now.  Yesterday Bryce and I walked to his t-ball practice, which is not vary far, but better than nothing.  I need to get mom and sis back to walking every night.

Day 2

So yesterday was day 2 of my Dukan diet attack phase and I have say, it was easier than day 1.  I was not quite as hungry as the first day and did not care about carbs as much, i.e. fewer cravings.  I also realized that I left out a few of my snacks in yesterday's post, so don't think that was all I ate, I ate quite a bit, just made sure everything was 'Dukan approved'.   So here is mostly what I ate yesterday-

Breakfast- turkey bacon and eggs

Lunch- baked tilapia (leftovers) with greek yogurt and yellow mustard 'sauce'

Snacks- slim jims, cottage cheese, lunch meat, greek yogurt mixed with oat bran and sweetener

Supper- burgers with low fat cheese (just the meat, no bun, veggies or condiments)

I really had a lot of doubts as to wether or not I could do this, I am NOT a big meat eater, but it is amazingly easy.

Today's stats-
Weight- 259.4 which is a loss of 2.4 from yesterday and 6.6 total so far which is what the Dukan website  said would be my loss for the whole six days, so ahead of schedule!
Blood sugar this morning- 112, yay!

Dukan Diet

Ok, well, it has been a LONG time since I set this up and still have not done anything with it, so I will use it for my Dukan Diet tracker and maybe it will help somebody else.

So I started the diet yesterday, April 4, and it is going pretty good so far. If you have not heard of the Dukan diet, it is very similar to Atkins, which I tried to do and failed. The main difference, that I like, is that instead of minimizing carbs, you eliminate them altogether, the best you can. You can have all the protein you want as long as it is on the approved list and fat free or low fat, which you can find here. You are also to have a small amount of oat bran every day to keep things moving in the right direction, hehe.

So I started yesterday and here is what I ate-

Breakfast- bacon and eggs (bacon is cured with sugar and really not an acceptable food, but its what I had on hand)

Lunch-baked talapia with a little mixture of 0% greek yogurt and yellow mustard

Snack- 0% greek yogurt with my oat bran and a little sweetener

slim jims (probably not acceptable, but again, I had them on hand and am still trying to figure it all out)

Fat free Cottage cheese

Supper- Baked chicken breasts

I know that when I don't get enough sleep, I tend to gain a little weight, so yesterday morning I had gone up a couple of pounds, but this morning I am back down and lost a few more. I am going to put my weight in here and I expect you all to be nice about it, no mean jokes or I will take away your princess points! ;)

So my starting weight from yesterday is 267

Today's weight is 262.8, so I lost 4.2 lbs yesterday, but a lot of that is going to be water weight. On this diet you are supposed to drink a LOT of water! You can also have tea, coffee and sodas as long as they are sugar free. Oh, since I am also trying to improve my blood sugar I will start to list that also and this morning it was 127, so lots of room for improvement there!

You can go to the Dukan diet page and it will tell you your true weight for free.  It is more realistic than the whole government generalized one size fits all weight chart and takes into account your age, bone structure, pregnancies, etc.  According to this one, my true weight is 175, which is a good number to shoot for starting out.  The part that I really like is that it tells you a date that you will reach that goal if you lose 2 pounds a week.  So for me it says I should be in the "attack" phase for 6 days and lose 6 pounds, then in the "cruise" phase for 281 days and reach my goal weight on January 16, 2012!  I have to say that that really inpires me, to know that I can mark that day on a calender and if I can stick with it, I will be in a much better place!  The Dukan book doesn't come out in the US until later this month, but you can get a lot of information to get started now at different websites.  Here is one I really like and that has encouraged me to start.
Well, I have to go and take care of Betty Rose, let me know if you decide to give this a try!
